Submit a Session Proposal for ABRCMS 2018

Scientific Session Proposals

Do you have an innovative STEM talk geared toward undergraduate students? Submit a scientific session proposal for ABRCMS 2018.

Requirements

  • Session title: title should be short and appeal to a broad audience
  • Session description: in 100 words or less, describe the session to potential attendees, as it should appear in conference programming
  • Scientific discipline: session should be applicable to one or more of the twelve scientific disciplines
  • Session goals: state the intended outcomes and learning goals of the session
  • Session speaker: provide background and contact information for speaker, including relevant past presentations and a short speaker biography. No more than two speakers to a scientific session
  • Speaker diversity: every attempt should be made to include speakers of diverse backgrounds, including gender, ethnicity and scientific disciplines
  • Funding request: plans for funding the session

Professional Development Session Proposals

Promote professional development for trainees or educate faculty on facilitating student success during your session at ABRCMS. Professional development sessions can be geared toward a general audience or specific groups, including:

  • Undergraduate students
  • Graduate students and postdoctoral scientists
  • Faculty members
  • Exhibitors/administrators

Requirements

  • Session title: title should be short, but descriptive
  • Session description: in 100 words or less, describe the session to potential attendees, as it should appear in conference programming
  • Session goals: express the intended outcomes and learning goals of the session
  • Intended audience: indicate the target audience for the session
  • Session speakers: provide background and contact information for each speaker, including relevant past presentations and a short speaker biography
  • Speaker diversity: every attempt should be made to include speakers of diverse backgrounds, including gender, ethnicity and scientific disciplines
  • Funding request: plans for funding the session

The format of sessions can vary based on audience and talk. Types of formats include panel discussions, lectures or small group discussions.
