How do I Submit my Abstract?

What Happens if My Abstract Is Accepted?

Twelve individuals will be selected to present their research as an oral presentation on April 25 during the live Symposium. Oral presenters are expected to create a 5-7 minute PowerPoint presentation about their research. Presenters will be asked questions from the audience about their presentation. Oral presenters will NOT submit an ePoster PDF.

If your abstract is accepted into the Symposium, but not selected as an oral presentation, you will be assigned to one of two ePoster sessions (ePoster Session 1: 4:00-4:30 pm ET or ePoster Session 2: 4:30-5:00 pm ET). During the ePoster session, you will give your ePoster presentation to each of your three assigned judges. The judges will provide you with feedback and ask you questions about your research. Judges will submit a score based on a rubric. At the end of the Symposium, there will be an Awards Ceremony where the winners from the ePoster presentations will be announced.

Review detailed presentation guidelines.

Take a Leadership Role at the Spring Symposium.

We invite active researchers, particularly senior-level graduate students and postdoctoral scientists, to volunteer for the following opportunities.

Abstract Reviewer (asynchronous)

  • Review up to 10 abstracts March 15-20.
  • Reviews will be online and asynchronous.

Judge (live)

  • Judge four student ePoster presentations on April 25 from 4-5 p.m. ET.
  • Judging will be live via video chat with students using the Fourwaves platform.

Indicate interest in serving as an ePoster Abstract Reviewer and/or Judge when you register for the Symposium. Registration will open in Fall 2023.
