Why Should I Submit an Abstract?
- It's a chance to show your science skills and knowledge.
- You will join a vibrant community of people who love science.
- You will get an idea of what it's like to be a scientist.
Am I Eligible to Submit an Abstract?
As of April 1, 2025, you must be currently enrolled in one of the following categories and conducted research, used experimental methods and developed results in one of the 12 ABRCMS scientific disciplines.
- An undergraduate first-year student.
- A community college student with less than 30 credit hours.
- A high school student:
- In an Early College High School program, OR
- Part of a formalized research program, OR
- Conducted formalized research at a community college or university.

- Abstract Submission Deadline: 11:59 pm PT on March 25, 2025
(2:59 am ET on March 26, 2025) - Abstract Notification: April 8, 2025
- Accepted ePoster Upload Deadline: April 22, 2025
- ABRCMS ePoster Spring Symposium:
April 30, 2025 | 4:00-7:00 p.m. ET

What are the Components of an Abstract?
Accepted abstracts must contain the following:
- At least two authors in the author block, yourself and your research advisor.
- Hypothesis or statement about the problem under investigation.
- Statement of the experimental methods/methodology used.
- Essential results are provided in summary form (even if preliminary).
- A conclusion.
Abstracts missing any of the items above will be rejected. In addition, abstracts must be clearly written and free of multiple errors.

How do I Submit my Abstract?
What Happens if My Abstract Is Accepted?
If your abstract is accepted into the Symposium you will be assigned to one of two ePoster sessions that will take place live on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 (ePoster Session 1: 4:00-4:45 pm ET or ePoster Session 2: 4:45-5:30 pm ET). During the ePoster session, you will give your ePoster presentation to each of your two assigned judges. The judges will provide you with feedback and ask you questions about your research. Judges will submit a score based on a rubric. At the end of the Symposium, there will be an Awards Ceremony where the winners from the ePoster presentations will be announced.
